Women’s Cross Country: Allen advances to state meet with 92nd-place SoCal finish
Freshman Samantha Allen of the Long Beach City College women’s cross country team has qualified for the 2010 CCCAA Cross Country State Championships thanks to her 92nd-place finish at Saturday’s Southern California Championships in San Diego.
Freshman Samantha Allen of the Long Beach City College women's cross country team has qualified for the 2010 CCCAA Cross Country State Championships thanks to her 92nd-place finish at Saturday's Southern California Championships in San Diego.
Allen, LBCC's lone female runner at the regionals, cleared the 5K course at Mission Bay Park with a time of 21:47.
Southwestern College won the women's team title with 22 points, followed by Glendale (68) and LA Trade Tech (73). Danielle Low of Trade Tech was the individual champion with a time of 18:27.
The state championships are set for November 20 at Woodward Park in Fresno.
