Suzie Witmer returns for her eighth season as head coach of the LBCC women's volleyball team in 2013.

During her seven seasons at LBCC, Witmer has compiled a 91-70 overall record and has led LBCC to the postseason four times.

In her first season at LBCC in 2006, Witmer led the Vikings to a 15-8 overall record, a No. 25 final regular season state ranking, and a berth in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. Long Beach finished fourth in the SCC at 9-5.

Witmer came to LBCC following a nine-year coaching career at Riverside City College. In her first season as interim head coach in 2001, she led Riverside to the Southern California regional finals. In 2004, Witmer was named the Orange Empire Conference Coach of the Year.

As an athlete, Witmer played two seasons at Riverside (1994-95) before continuing her education and volleyball career at California State University, East Bay.

She graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with a degree in kinesiology and earned her master’s degree in education from Azusa Pacific University.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family. Activities including scuba diving, wakeboarding, ski skiing, and snowboarding are her favorite. She resides in Canyon Lake, with her husband Jim and two-year-old son J.R.
