Johnson, a sophomore that will compete this spring for the Vikings in 2011, will join Cal Baptist next fall for the 2012 volleyball season.
As a freshman in 2010, Johnson was named first-team All-Western State Conference at middle blocker. Johnson split time at the position last season with standout Randy Preval, but still averaged 2.64 kills and 1.05 blocks per game along with a .365 hitting percentage.
He helped lead the Vikings to a Western State Conference championship as well as a spot in the CCCAA Men's Volleyball State Championships.
Johnson also had offers from nearby Long Beach State University and the University of Hawai'i.
Cal Baptist is in its final year of playing at the NAIA level this spring. In 2012, CBU will compete at the NCAA Division II level.
