February 23, 2016 Football: SCFA announces official 2016 Long Beach schedule The Southern California Football Association has released the official 2016 team schedules for all 37 programs. Long Beach will host Pasadena City College in both squads’ season opener on Sep. 3 while the Vikings will face Saddleback College in a rematch of last season’s Southern California Championship final the following week on Sep. 10.

December 16, 2015 Football: Boesen signs National Letter of Intent to continue career at TCU Long Beach City College defensive end Mat Boesen has signed his National Letter of Intent to continue his academic and athletic career at Texas Christian University. Today marked the opening day of the mid-year junior college transfer signing period. Boesen will enroll in classes at TCU beginning this January.

November 21, 2015 Football: Long Beach advances to Southern California Championship with win at Cerritos Freshman quarterback Jack Lowary's (Mater Dei HS) two-yard touchdown run with 34 seconds left in the fourth quarter capped an impressive 34-30 come-from-behind win for Long Beach City College at rival Cerritos College on Saturday night in the Southern California Bowl. With the victory, LBCC advances to next Saturday's (Nov. 28) Southern California Regional Championship game at Saddleback College.
November 15, 2015 Football: Vikings seeded third for SoCal Playoffs, play at rival Cerritos in Southern California Bowl After being shutout of the Southern California playoffs last year, head coach Brett Peabody and his Long Beach City College Vikings will finally get their chance to play for a state championship. LBCC was named the South's No. 3 seed for the regional playoffs and will face rival second-seeded Cerritos College at Falcon Stadium on November 21 in the Southern California Bowl.

But it was sophomore corner back Kiante Goudeau (Edison HS) on defense that came up with the big plays when the Vikings needed them most. Goudeau had a pair of returns for touchdowns in the third quarter as LBCC rallied to beat the Seahawks 32-27 in both teams' SCFA National Central League opener at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

Wide receiver Josiah Blandin scored his first touchdown of the season in Fresno State’s 34-13 win over Abilene Christian University while quarterback Kenny Potter had a big night in San Jose State’s 43-13 victory over New Hampshire University.

Jessup stared for the Long Beach City College football team as a tight end and defensive back during the 1947 season before transferring to USC to play three seasons.
January 5, 2015 Football: Vikings' Bateman, Iakopo named to All-State team The postseason honors continue to roll in for a Long Beach City College football team that put together an impressive 9-2 overall record in 2014. Freshman running back Anterio Bateman and freshman free safety London Iakopo were both named to the California Community College Football Coaches Association (CCCFCA) Region III All-California team.

On Saturday, Long Beach City College taught that lesson over and over again to a Golden West team that got chippy on social media, winning 75-41 in the Beach Bowl to end its season.

Stangeland is a member of the LBCC Hall of Champions, Long Beach State Hall of Fame, Long Beach Century Club Hall of Fame, and the California Community College Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

December 7, 2012 Football: Reisbig steps down after five seasons as LBCC head coach Long Beach City College interim athletic director Randy Totorp has announced that football head coach Mike Reisbig has stepped down from his position effective immediately. Reisbig plans to remain with the college and football program as a faculty member and assistant coach.
