Football: Vikings take tough loss at home, 43-7 to Santa Ana
The Long Beach City College football team suffered a 43-7 non-conference loss against visiting Santa Ana College on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Long Beach, ranked No. 12 in Southern California, dropped to 3-2 overall while No. 10 Santa Ana improved to 4-1.

Long Beach couldn't stop a potent Santa Ana offense, as the Dons rolled to 375 yards in the game. SAC quarterback Andrew McDonald tossed four touchdown passes in the first half to lead the Dons to the win.
Santa Ana led 43-0 late in the contest before freshman running back Jared Ginter ran in for a touchdown from two yards out with 9:21 left in the fourth quarter to break up the shutout and post LBCC's lone points of the game.
Sophomore linebacker Moses Tili led the LBCC defense with 11 tackles (5 solo). Sophomore free safety Fred Rogers posted six tackles, intercepted a pass in his own end zone, and also broke up a pass.
Long Beach has a bye next week, and returns to action October 16 when it hosts L.A. Harbor College at 1 p.m.
