Long Beach City College freshmen starting pitchers Sean Hale, and Edgar Navar, and sophomore third baseman Ray Patchen recently were named first-team All-South Coast Conference at last week’s postseason SCC coaches meeting. The three head a list of six Vikings to earn All-SCC honors.

Track & Field: Long Beach qualifies for 18 events at SoCal Preliminaries

The Long Beach City College track and field program will be well represented at this Saturday’s (May 4) Southern California Championships preliminaries meet at Antelope Valley College in Lancaster. LBCC women have qualified for 10 events while the Viking men will make appearances in eight events following last week’s South Coast Conference Championship finals at Mt. San Antonio College.

Women’s Swimming & Diving: MacLennan, Rojas lead LBCC at state finals

Sophomore Christine MacLennan (pictured) compiled three top-15 finishes while sophomore Jackie Rojas had two top-10 showings to lead Long Beach City College to a 20th place finish this past weekend (Apr. 25-27) at the 2013 California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Swimming & Diving Championship at East Los Angeles College.

Softball: Vikings close regular-season with 2-1 loss at Palomar
Long Beach City College closed out the regular-season schedule on Wednesday with a 2-1 loss at Palomar College. With the loss, the Vikings finished in third place in the South Coast Conference standings at 14-7 and 24-15 overall.

Baseball: Long Beach snaps losing streak with 7-4 win over Pasadena
Long Beach City College freshman Sean Hale won his SCC-leading eighth game of the season as the Vikings snapped a three-game losing with a 7-4 South Coast Conference win over visiting Pasadena City College on Tuesday at Joe Hicks Memorial Field.
