LBCC Volleyball Advances in Regional Play After Strong First-Round Win
The Vikings started their playoff run confidently, defeating Saddleback 3–1 to move into round two.
The No. 17–ranked Long Beach City College women's volleyball team opened the 2025 3C2A Southern California Regional Bracket with an impressive 3–1 victory at home on Saturday night, powering past Saddleback to advance to the second round.
LBCC came out strong, taking the first two sets behind a fast, efficient offense that combined for 30 kills and steady ball control. After dropping a tight third set, the Vikings responded with their best frame of the match, hitting a blistering .432 in the fourth to close out the win. Marissa Krebs and Kyla Jones anchored the attack with a combined 28 kills, while Ryleeh Tuaolo added another standout performance, finishing with 15 kills of her own. The Vikings' defense held firm throughout the night, highlighted by 77 digs and 8 total blocks that continually turned momentum back in Long Beach's favor.
With the victory, the Vikings improve to 17–9 and continue their postseason run with a major challenge ahead. LBCC will now go on the road to face undefeated No. 3 Orange Coast College (25–0) on Tuesday, Nov. 25 at 6 p.m., looking to carry Saturday's momentum into one of the toughest matchups in the state.
