The Long Beach City College women's soccer team continued its dominant postseason run with a 5–0 victory over Cerritos College in the South Coast Conference Semifinals on Monday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Vikings (17–1–1) came out aggressive from the opening whistle, controlling possession and converting early chances. Sky Demelo opened the scoring just three minutes into the match off a setup from Laila Alfadhiel, who later doubled the lead in the 33rd minute to give Long Beach a 2–0 halftime advantage.
The Vikings carried their momentum into the second half, finding the back of the net three more times. Leila Rodriguez scored in the 52nd minute off a pass from Lorena Moreno, who added her second assist of the day on Kiana Moore's goal in the 70th minute. Brisa Medina closed out the scoring in the 84th minute, assisted by Jocelyn Aquino.
Goalkeeper Mary Valenzuela recorded the clean sheet, stopping all five Cerritos attempts to secure her 13th shutout of the season.
With the win, Long Beach advances to the South Coast Conference Championship, where the Vikings will face Mt. San Antonio College on Thursday, November 13, at 7:00 p.m.
