The Long Beach City College women's soccer team rolled to a commanding 5-0 victory over Norco College on Tuesday afternoon.
The Vikings wasted no time getting on the board, as Kiana Moore netted the opening goal in the 5th minute off a feed from Jocelyn Aquino. Just three minutes later, Natalia Delgado Gomez doubled the lead with an assist from Maya Sanda, who went on to play a major role in the attack.
Sky Demelo extended the advantage midway through the first half with an unassisted strike, before Sanda added a goal of her own in the 27th minute off a pass from Laila Alfadhiel. Sanda capped off her standout day with a second-half assist, setting up Kayla Velazquez in the 54th minute for the Vikings' fifth and final tally.
In goal, Mary Valenzuela was steady between the posts, recording two saves to secure the clean sheet.
"Proud of our girls for coming out strong and putting together a great first half," said head coach Tino Nunez. "We've started to find some real consistency through this stretch of games."
With the win, Long Beach improves to 6-1 on the season. The Vikings will return to action on Tuesday at Saddleback College, with kickoff set for 3 p.m.
