The Cardinals punched their ticket to Omaha with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Miami in Game 3 of the Louisville Super Regional on Sunday at Jim Patterson Stadium. Louisville (40-22) will now face Oregon State (47-14-1) in the opening round on Friday, June 13 at 6 p.m. PT, on ESPN.
Neighbors, a senior outfielder, played a key role in Louisville's journey after transferring from LBCC, where he spent three seasons with the Vikings. During the 2022 season, Neighbors appeared in 41 games, collecting 36 hits, 30 runs, 14 stolen bases, and 14 RBIs while helping the Vikings claim a share of the South Coast Conference title. He made his collegiate debut in 2020 and was part of the program through the pandemic-shortened season and the canceled season in 2021.
The LBCC Athletics Department proudly congratulates Kamau Neighbors on this incredible accomplishment and will be cheering him on as he competes on college baseball's biggest stage. Go Vikings!
