LBCC Cross Country Teams Advance to State Championships
This marks the first time since Fall 2021 that both Viking teams have advanced to the state meet.

The Long Beach City College men's and women's cross country teams turned in strong performances at the SoCal Regional Championships, securing their spots at the 3C2A State Championships to be held at Woodward Park in Fresno on November 22. This marks the first time since Fall 2021 that both Viking teams have advanced to the state meet.
Women's Team – 9th Overall (275 Points)
The women's squad continued their impressive postseason run, placing 9th overall in a highly competitive field with 275 team points. The Vikings were led by Itzel Aguilar, who finished the 5K course in a stellar 19:17.64, setting the tone for the team.
Rounding out the top five scorers for LBCC were Nikie Costa (21:10.19), Cristal Martinez-Gasper (21:26.46), April Molina (21:45.68), and Elena Gutierrez (21:50.37).
Strong depth performances were also contributed by Belen Verduzco (21:53.72) and Jaliyah Gibson (22:51.57), who rounded out the Viking lineup.

Men's Team – 13th Overall (354 Points)
On the men's side, the Vikings showed remarkable improvement from earlier in the season, finishing 13th overall with 354 team points. Ethan Garcia led the way with a time of 21:11.78, followed closely by Jamari Gibson at 21:34.23.
Completing the top five were Sebastian Pardo Sandoval (22:02.41), Noel Rivas (22:47.07), and Jack Madden (22:48.82).
The Vikings' depth was strengthened by solid finishes from Daniel Green (23:24.85) and Javonn Chhu Bol (23:45.01).

Looking Ahead
With both teams advancing, the Vikings will now turn their focus to the 3C2A State Championships, where they'll compete against California's best on November 22 in Fresno.
