Vikings Sweep Mt. SAC in Straight Sets

The Long Beach City College women's volleyball team powered past Mt. SAC with a 3-0 sweep (25-18, 25-21, 25-23) on Wednesday night. The Vikings controlled the match from start to finish, securing their third straight victory.

Ryleeh Tuaolo led the way with a match-high 10 kills while also contributing three digs and four block assists to total 17 points. Tyreana Allen was another force at the net, adding nine kills, 12 digs, and three total blocks for 11 points.

Middle blocker Kyla Jones was a difference-maker on both sides of the court, finishing with eight kills, three block assists, and one solo block for 11.5 points. Setter Emeli Muagututi'a kept the offense rolling, dishing out 19 assists while also chipping in two service aces and five digs.

Defensively, the Vikings tallied 53 digs as a team, led by Allen and libero Veronica Lanuza with 12 and nine, respectively. At the net, the squad combined for nine total blocks to stifle the Mounties' attack.

With the sweep, Long Beach improves its momentum heading into conference play. The Vikings return to action on Thursday, Sept. 26, when they travel to face Rio Hondo at 6 p.m.
