Vikings Shine at South Coast Conference Track & Field Prelims
The Vikings track and field team turned in a strong showing at the South Coast Conference Prelims.
The Long Beach City College track and field team turned in a strong showing at the South Coast Conference Prelims, earning top finishes across multiple events.
Women's Highlights:
- Nevaeh Lane led the charge with a first-place finish in the 100 meters (12.29) and a runner-up finish in the 200 meters (25.40).
- Saryah Harris-Davis secured third place in the shot put with a mark of 11.80 meters.
- Zion Peters impressed in the heptathlon, placing third overall with 2,931 points.
"I'm so proud of how our ladies performed at the SCC Prelims on Tuesday, said Head Coach Karen Vigilant. "We showed incredible determination, skill, and teamwork out there. It was great to see all of our hard work pay off. I'm looking forward to Saturday and bringing the same energy to the finals with a strong finish."
Men's Highlights:
- Marques Guzman had a standout performance, finishing second in the 100 meters (10.82) and capturing first place in the 200 meters (21.72).
- Riki Moscoso earned third place in the 1500 meters (4:08.83) and added a fourth-place finish in the 10,000 meters (33:00.55).
- Malaki Alexander-Fonfara rounded out the Viking efforts with a fifth-place finish in the 400 meters (49.79).
