Viking Track & Field Triumphs at RCC Open

The Viking's Track & Field squads blazed through the RCC Open this past weekend, leaving a trail of remarkable performances. Here's a rundown of the standout moments:

Men:

• Roosevelt Grier dominated the Javelin, seizing 1st place with an outstanding throw of 46.44 meters, marking a personal best.

• Luke Chibueze showcased his speed and endurance, clinching 2nd place in the 800 meters with a swift time of 1 minute and 57.02 seconds.

• The Men's 4x100m Relay team, comprised of David Garcia, Jeremiah Artis, Kai Lauderdale, and Justin Auston, stormed to a commendable 2nd place finish, crossing the line in 43.31 seconds.

• Devarriea Oles exhibited finesse in the 110m Hurdles, securing 3rd place with a stellar time of 15.02 seconds, a season-best that meets the State 'A' standard.

Women:

• Amareah Hamilton soared to victory in the 100 hurdles, claiming 1st place with a lightning-fast personal best time of 14.64 seconds.

• Natalie Paredes demonstrated her strength in the shot put, securing 3rd place with an impressive throw of 11.01 meters (36 feet 2 inches), setting a new personal record.
