With a 4-0 victory over Cerritos College, Long Beach wins the conference title with a perfect undefeated 4-0 record. Goalkeeper Fabio Ardizzoia played the full 90 minutes for the shutout. Long Beach went through South Coast - South conference play with 18 goals scored and zero conceded.
Aaron Rodriques was fouled in the penalty box in minute 20 of the game. He chose to take the penalty kick, and calmly converted it into the upper corner to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead that they would carry into the half time.
Long Beach came out in the second half strong with the determination to increase their lead, and that is exactly what they did. Second half goals were scored by Victor Quiroz and Eric Diaz to bring the score to 3-0. Luke Garza put away his goal in the 89th minute for the fourth and final score. Director of Soccer Operations and Men's head coach Jorge Reyes commented,
"It is nice that we have won the conference, and I am excited about that, but we have even bigger plans and goals ahead of us. We will enjoy this today, and then prepare for our games versus Pasadena and Mt. Sac at home next week."
