Six different players scored goals on the road as Long Beach beat Compton 7-0. The victory has set up a conference title match Friday versus Cerritos College at the Viking soccer complex at 2:00. Long Beach will enter the game with a 3-0 record while the Falcons come in with a 2-0-1 mark.
Against Compton, Justin Zapata started the scoring in the fifth minute off of a direct free kick from 20 yards out. Five minutes later Cesar Garcia scored his first of two goals for the game off of a penalty kick after Asael Sales was taken down in the box. Ten minutes later Sales would get a goal of his own off of an assist from Jordi Pineda.
Starting the second half with a 3-0 lead, Garcia would get his second goal less than two minutes into the half off an assist from Joshua Grado. Long Beach would continue to find the back of the net as Grado scored off a blazing shot from 22 yards out to make the score 5-0. Teodosorio Vargas would be next when he converted off Grado's second assist of the game. Julian Zarate would finish the scoring for the day as he converted his penalty kick in minute 72. Goalkeepers Fabio Ardizzoia and Chris Ramirez, playing 68 and 22 minutes respectively, would combine for the shutout with both goalies recording one save for the day.
