On a cold and rainy day at L.A. Harbor College, Joshua Grado scored in the seventy sixth minute off a double assist from Jiro Uchida and Cesar Garcia Solorzano, to give the Vikings a 1-0 victory on the road. The win improves the Vikings overall record to 5-4-3 and 3-0 in South Conference play, 2-0 in the South Coast South division.
From the onset of the contest Long Beach was determined to keep possession of the ball and work to open up L.A. Harbor defense. Asa Sales was able to break free on three different occasions in the first fifteen minutes and laid across great crosses that were close to being assists if not for the strong clearances inside the six. Julian Zarate also had an opportunity that the Seahawks keeper was able to make a save, one of his nine for the game. After a scoreless first half, Long Beach finally was able to get on the board when Grado received a cross from Garcia Solorzano and finished it into the far side netting. Overall, the Vikings outshot the Seahawks 11-2 for the game. LBCC Goalkeeper Fabio Ardizoia recorded one save for the shutout.
The Vikings next play at home on Friday, at 2:00, versus L.A.C. College.
