Women’s Water Polo: LBCC impressive at season-opening Cypress tournament

The No. 4 state-ranked Long Beach City College women's water polo team was just a successful as the men's squad, opening the season by going 4-0 at the Cypress College tournament.

On Friday, Long Beach edged Orange Coast 9-7 before beating Sierra 13-6.

The Vikings closed the pool-play tourney with easy wins on Saturday over host Cypress (12-5) and Miramar (11-3).

The LBCC women's water polo team opens the home and South Coast Conference schedule on Wednesday (Sept 15) with a 4:15 p.m. contest against El Camino.
