Women’s Volleyball: Long Beach rolls to sweep of Cerritos in home finale
The Long Beach City College women's volleyball team wrapped up its 2010 home schedule with a 3-0 South Coast Conference win over rival Cerritos College on Friday night at LBCC.
Long Beach won the match by scores of 25-22, 25-21, and 25-18 to improve to 12-9 overall and 7-6 in the SCC.
Sophomore Audris Leiataua had a big night in her final match at home in a LBCC uniform. She posted a match-high 13 kills to go with five blocks and four digs.
Freshman Raegan Heitzig added 10 kills, sophomore Megann Capic led LBCC with 16 digs. Sophomore Cashmere Santos totaled 21 assists and freshman Kelsey Dix had 19 assists.
Chanelle Puou led Cerritos (9-11, 5-8 SCC) with 11 kills and added 12 digs. Also for the Falcons, Mariana Gonzalez posted seven kills and five blocks.
Long Beach closes out the conference schedule on Wednesday (Nov. 17) with a 6 pm match at Pasadena City College.
