Men’s Soccer: Vikings suffer 2-0 South Coast Conference loss to El Camino

The loss dropped Long Beach to 6-7-6 overall and 3-5-4 in conference play while El Camino moved to 8-7-4 and 2-7-3 in the SCC.
El Camino scored early, getting a goal from Edgar Lopez in the 10th minute and then sealed the win with a late goal from Frank Rodriguez in the 89th minute.
LBCC had scoring opportunities of its own, but couldn't finish. In the 56th minute, freshman Walter Cannavina missed the goal on a wide open shot just in front of the net. And in the 60th minute, freshman Andrew Gomez had his point-blank shot saved by El Camino goalie Daniel Herrera to preserve the shutout.
Long Beach goalie Luis Romero posted three saves while Herrera totaled five saves for the Warriors.
The Long Beach men return to action on Tuesday (Nov. 9) when they travel to Mt. San Antonio College for a 3 pm conference game.
