Men's Basketball: No. 17 seed Vikings travel to No. 14 Glendale for first-round playoff game
The 2010-11 Long Beach City College men’s basketball season continues for another game, as the Vikings were awarded the No. 17 seed for the upcoming Southern California Regional Playoffs. Long Beach travels to face No. 14 seed Glendale College in a first-round game on Wednesday (Feb. 23) at 7 p.m.

LBCC makes its first trip to the postseason under second-year head coach Barry Barnes after missing out last year. The Vikings will be making their sixth trip to the playoffs over the past seven seasons.
Long Beach closed the regular season with a 14-11 overall record and finished second in the SCC South Division at 9-4. The Vikings finished out the schedule with 59-55 win over SCC South Division champ L.A. Harbor College in their regular-season finale on Friday.
Glendale enters the postseason with an 18-10 overall record. Under long-time head coach Brian Beuchemin (31st season), the Vaqueros were third in the Western State Conference South Division with a 7-5 record.
Wednesday marks the first meeting between the two teams this season. The winner of the contest will face No. 1 Mt. San Antonio College on the Mounties' home court on Saturday (Feb. 26). Long Beach suffered an 81-71 loss to Mt. SAC earlier this season.
Three wins will advance Long Beach to the 2011 CCCAA Basketball State Championships on March 5-7 at Ventura College.
