Bio

Arnold Ale began his first season as a member of the Long Beach City College football coaching staff in 2013.

Ale has played in the NFL, won a National Championship, and has also coached at the collegiate and high school levels.

From 2010-12, Ale served as linebackers and special teams coach at LA Harbor College for now LBCC head coach Brett Peabody. He also had the opportunity to serve as a defensive line intern coach with the Cincinnati Bengals during the 2012 NFL playoffs.

Prior to Harbor, Ale was the head coach at Bishop Montgomery High School in Torrance from 2002-09. In 2008, he led Bishop Montgomery to its first CIF Northwest Division playoff berth and a Camino Real League championship since 1983.

Ale was also the head coach at St. Anthony High School for one season in 2001 and was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Carson High School (1997-98).

As a player, Ale earned All-American, All-State, All-City, and All-South Bay honors at Carson High School. He went on to play at Notre Dame and started four games for the Irish, including their National Championship win in the 1989 Fiesta Bowl. Ale sat out the next season and played his final three seasons back home at UCLA.

Ale went on to play professionally for the San Diego Chargers (1996) and Kansas City Chiefs (1994) as well as the Scottish Claymores of NFL Europe.

Ale earned his Bachelor’s degree in sociology at UCLA and received his Master’s degree in kinesiology from the University of Central Missouri.
