Baseball: Four former Vikings making their way in the minors
Four former Long Beach City College Vikings are continuing their baseball dreams and are currently playing professionally in the minor leagues. Jonathan Keener (pictured, right), Lance Breedlove, Steven Gallardo, and Brian Compton are all playing in lower-level minor leagues with the hope of someday making it to “The Show.”

Baseball: Gallardo, Breedlove taken in 2012 Major League Baseball Draft
One current and one former member of the Long Beach City College baseball program were selected in Day 3 of the 2012 Major League Baseball (MLB) First Year Player Draft on Wednesday. Sophomore starting pitcher Steven Gallardo was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals and former Viking starting pitcher Lance Breedlove was taken by the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Long Beach City College sophomore pitcher Steven Gallardo had a historical afternoon as he tossed a 10-inning, no-hitter over El Camino College-Compton Center this afternoon in a 1-0 South Coast Conference win at LBCC's Joe Hicks Memorial Field.

Baseball: Long Beach snaps losing streak with walk-off win over Irvine Valley
Freshman Ryan Dickison (pictured, center) delivered a two-out, pinch-hit walk off single to give Long Beach City College a 6-5 non-conference win over visiting Irvine Valley College on Thursday. The game-winning hit capped a three-run, ninth-inning rally and snapped a four-game LBCC losing streak.

Baseball: Long Beach pushes win streak to six after 3-1 win over LA Harbor
Long Beach City College rolled to a 3-1 South Coast Conference win over visiting Los Angeles Harbor College on Thursday. The win extended LBCC’s winning streak to six games as the Vikings, now 10-7 overall and 5-0 in the SCC, will look for the three-game series sweep on Saturday. Jake Angus (pictured) earned the win to improve to 2-1.
