LBCC (14-15, 9-7 SCC) managed just three hits in the contest off Cerritos' Kevin Hendrix and Nick Quezada.
Sophomore third baseman Andy Hernandez' (Paramount HS) two-out double in the top of the seventh broke up the Falcons' bid at a no hitter.
Freshman Omar Jimenez (Lakewood HS) took the loss to drop to 4-3. He allowed two runs and six hits in four innings.
The two teams continue the series on Thursday (Apr 14) at 2:30 p.m. when it shifts to LBCC's Joe Hicks Memorial Field.
The series finale is set for Saturday (Apr 16) at noon back at Cerritos College.
