August 11, 2015 Women’s Soccer: Gonzales signs with NCAA Division I University of Idaho Long Beach City College women’s soccer is proud to announce Hayley Gonzales signed a National Letter of Intent with the University of Idaho in July and is currently with the Vandals in training camp in preparation for their season opener on August 21 against Indiana State University.
June 23, 2015 Basketball: Former Viking Bruce Fraser helps lead Warriors to NBA Championship Long Beach City College basketball had its own ties to the recently crowned NBA-champion Golden State Warriors. Former Viking player Bruce Fraser, son of former legendary LBCC head coach Bill Fraser, served as an assistant coach of player development for Steve Kerr's Warriors coaching staff.
May 29, 2015 Athletics: Football’s Bateman, Track and Field’s Dunson named 2014-15 LBCC Athletes of the Year Anterio “Taz” Bateman (Football) and Chantel Dunson (Track and Field) have been named the Long Beach City College Male and Female Athletes of the Year for the 2014-15 sports season. LBCC head coaches along with a panel of local media selected this season’s winners.
May 16, 2015 Track and Field: Long Beach’s Dunson is state champion in triple jump, Jones fifth in steeplechase Long Beach City College freshman Chantel Dunson closed out the 2015 with her best jump of the season. Her mark of 11.59 meters (38-0 1/4) earned her a first-place finish in the triple jump at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Track and Field State Championship at College of San Mateo on Saturday.

May 2, 2015 Baseball: Long Beach season ends with 3-2 SoCal Regional playoff loss to Orange Coast The Long Beach City College baseball team played a much different game than yesterday’s 18-3 loss but unfortunately the outcome was the same. Sophomore starting pitcher Julian Griego (pictured) did his best to keep the Vikings in the game, but LBCC suffered a 3-2 defeat to visiting Orange Coast College in Game 2 of the Southern California Regional playoffs.
