September 6, 2014 Men’s Cross Country: Torres’ seventh-place finish leads Long Beach to 11th at Fresno Invitational Long Beach City College sophomore Omar Torres ran 20:57.58 to lead the Vikings with a seventh-place finish at the Fresno Invitational on Saturday. As a team, LBCC totaled 306 points to finish in 11th out of 19 squads.
September 5, 2014 Women’s Volleyball: Vikings drop a pair of opening-day matches at home It wasn’t quite the way new women’s volleyball head coach Trisha Marx envisioned the start of her Long Beach City College career. On Friday, the Vikings opened the regular season with a 3-0 (26-24, 25-17, 25-18) loss to San Diego Mesa, followed by a 3-1 (25-18, 25-16, 21-25, 25-15) defeat to Chaffey College at home as part of the LBCC Quad Tournament.
September 5, 2014 Football: Vikings, Peabody set to open season vs. Moorpark on Saturday The Long Beach City College Vikings host the Moorpark College Raiders in both teams’ season opener on Saturday. LBCC looks to snap a three-game losing streak on opening day. The Vikings last won its season-opener in 2010, a 20-14 overtime win over Golden West College at home.
August 26, 2014 Softball: Bernal, Pallan, Yepez make list of five Vikings to transfer with athletic scholarships Long Beach City College sophomores Reina Bernal and Melissa Yepez, as well as freshman Rayleen Pallan have all committed to four-year colleges and will receive athletic scholarships to continue their academic and athletic careers this coming fall.
August 18, 2014 Water Polo: Oeding, United States capture gold medal at FINA Women’s Water Polo World Cup Long Beach City College water polo and swimming head coach Chris Oeding will return from Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia with a gold medal after helping lead the United States Water Polo Women’s Senior National Team to a 10-6 win over Australia in the championship final of the FINA World Cup on Sunday.

July 15, 2014 Long Beach City College names Trisha Marx new women's volleyball head coach Director of Athletics Joe Cascio has announced the hiring of Trisha Marx as Long Beach City College's new head coach of women's volleyball for the upcoming fall season. Marx comes to LBCC with coaching experience at the California community college, club, and high school levels.
