SAC Season Opener meet The 2016 Long Beach City College Track & Field season got underway as members of the women's squad competed at the Mt. San Antonio College Season Opener meet in Walnut on Friday. LBCC totaled 26 entries at the non-scoring event.
February 5, 2016 Softball: Vikings can't hold late lead, fall 3-1 in 9 innings to San Diego Mesa Sophomore Brooke Loard (pictured) had 11 strike outs in her Viking debut but the Long Beach City College softball team couldn't hold a late lead for the second straight game and suffered a 3-1, nine-inning loss to visiting San Diego Mesa College on Friday.
February 4, 2016 Baseball: Vikings can't hold fifth-inning lead, drop 8-4 non-conference game to Santa Ana Long Beach City College totaled a season-high 11 hits but also left 11 runners on base in an 8-4 non-conference loss to visiting Santa Ana College on Thursday at LBCC's Joe Hicks Memorial Field. Long Beach led 4-2 after five innings but couldn't hold on for the win.
February 3, 2016 Women's Basketball: Vikings beat Cerritos 56-46 to take sole possession of first in SCC South Freshman Miranda Martinez (pictured) scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help lead Long Beach City College to a 56-46 win over visiting Cerritos College at the LBCC Hall of Champions Gym on Wednesday.
February 3, 2016 Men’s Basketball: Vikings let fourth-quarter lead slip, fall 87-81 in overtime to Cerritos Sophomore Chris Camper (pictured) posted a double-double with a season-high 34 points to go with 12 rebounds, but Long Beach City College couldn’t hold a late lead and ultimately fell 87-81 in overtime to the visiting Cerritos College Falcons in a crucial South Coast Conference South Division game at the LBCC Hall of Champions Gym on Wednesday.
